RENOVATION, REPAIR AND PAINTING
(RRP)
Eagle Environmental Training School
(EETS) is a certified
provider of the new Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) class.
On April 22, 2008, the EPA issue a ruling requiring the use
of lead-safe practices and other actions aimed at preventing lead poisoning,
Under the EPA rule, beginning April 22, 2010, contractors performing
renovation, repair and painting projects that disturb lead-based paint in
homes, child care facilities, and schools built before 1978 must be
certified and must follow specific work practices to prevent lead
contamination.
This EPA ruling applies to all jobs in pre-1978 housing and
child occupied facilities where more than 6 square feet per interior room,
or 20 square feet of exterior surface will be disturbed by paid workers.
The RRP rule covers a variety of jobs: renovation,
remodeling, painting, window replacement, plumbing, electrical work, heating
& air-conditioning, demolition, plus work performed by trades like
carpenters, electricians, and handymen. The EPA has the authority to impose
civil fines of up to $37,500 per violation per day, plus a criminal fine of
$37,500 for knowingly violating the RRP requirements.
Now, you can attend the EETS
accredited 8-hour RRP (40CFR745) Class, and have you and your firm become a
Certified Renovator and RRP Company. Note: all RRP classes are in
English.
